Why so much planning?

The walk is over a year away.  Why am I waiting a whole year before setting out?  Why not just do it now?

A long walking trip requires a lot of planning and logistics.  This one even more because every bit of equipment and supplies used will be purchased with Bitcoin.

The trip will be about 100 days long.  That is at least 99 nights.  Each night needs to be planned in advance, whether it is camping, staying in a hostel, motel, or home.  What are those costs and do they take bitcoin?  Can they be paid in advance with Coinbase?  Or perhaps someone can be arranged to pay for these things with their cash in exchange for my Bitcoin.  What about food?  All of these things need to be planned and arranged in advance.

The trip will be about 1,560 miles.  That is an average of 15.6 miles a day for 100 days.  If I am able to meet with, just for an example, the Bitcoiners of San Francisco.  When will I be there?  Where?  How many will be there and how will it be advertised?  Again, planning and logistics are necessary.
